Loc talk

But GOD — He gave me another chance.

In 2013, He impressed on my heart to learn to crochet, and this time, I listened. I watched countless YouTube videos, read books and magazines, bought my first hook and yarn from Walmart, and practiced relentlessly.

That spark turned into a fire.

My first Etsy shop, Virtuous DeZigns, was born from Proverbs 31 — the virtuous woman I strive to model my life after. Over the years, I explored many creative avenues, eventually launching Everything Loc’d, where I sold slouchy hats, rasta tams, and loc-friendly headwear. I elevated the classic slouchy hat by adding beads and cultural flair, and it took off.

There was a real need for designer headwear created by someone who understands our culture — not mass-produced hats from places that don’t. Loc’d Nation was the answer to that need. It represents purpose, style, and confidence. Bad hair days? Big Hair and Don’t Care? Loc’d Nation has you covered.

A Journey Woven With Motherhood

Being a stay-at-home mom and later a homeschooling mom gave me the space to grow this gift. Whether I was waiting during ballet classes, gym sessions, or homeschool activities, I always had a hook in my hand and yarn by my side. I learned to crochet almost anything, but creating extraordinary headwear became my signature.

Now that my daughter has graduated and is heading to college, I’m stepping fully into this next chapter — expanding my business and building Loc’d Nation into a brand that offers more than hats.

This is only the beginning.
